The Amayanabo of Twon-Brass in Bayelsa state, Alfred Papapreye Diete-Spiff, has revealed that militants in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria are running out of patience with the federal government.
Diete-Spiff warned the Muhammadu Buhari and his government to immediately set up a high-powered team to negotiate with the militant for peace to be sustained in the region.
The militants under various groups recently stopped attacks on oil installations and it is believed that this is because of the intervention of some leaders in the region.
King Diete-Spiff, a former military governor of old Rivers state, spoke in Asaba, the Delta state, saying traditional rulers had intervened but that the government must act fast.
According to a report by Today, the monarch said: “We have spoken with them and they have been quite understanding. Their prayer is God give us patience, but please hurry.
