Breaking: Sunday Oliseh gets new coaching job –


Former Super Eagles coach and captain Sunday Oliseh has been appointed head coach of Dutch 2nd division side Fortuna Sittard.

The 42-year-old who resigned the Super Eagles coaching job in February 2016 after just ten months in charge had previously played for Dutch giants Ajax from during his active days.

Fortuna Sittard stated on their website that the tactician signed an 18-month contract with the club, although he has an option to extend it for another season.

He is expected to begin his stint with the club on January 2, 2017.

Owner of the club Isitan Gün expressed gladness while announcing the development.

According to him, Sunday Oliseh was appointed because he is young and has huge experience – as other players will look up to him.

He also disclosed that the club thinks Oliseh is the right man for this job.

Oliseh earned 63 caps for the Super Eagles of Nigeria and also played club football with top teams like Juventus of Italy and and Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund.
He also cached Belgian lower tier side Verviétois before being appointed by Nigeria. He left his position as the Super Eagles coach citing lack of support by the Nigeria Football Federation.
