Great Tension In Aso Rock, As Tinubu Blows Hot, 'Attacks' Buhari

The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Tinubu, has on Sunday, December 25, tactically faulted President Muhammadu Buhari’s victory claim over Boko Haram, without the liberation of the remaining 179 abducted Chibok girls.

Recall, that 276 Chibok schoolgirls were in April 2014, abducted by Boko Haram militants.

Meanwhile, 57 of them escaped immediately in 2014, one was found later, and 21 were released in October, 2016, leaving 197 still in captivity.

The Buhari-led government had last year maintained that the war against Boko Haram, would not have been won, unless all the kidnapped Chibok girls are freed from the stronghold of Boko Haram.

Earlier, the Nigerian army’s ‘Operation Lafiya Dole troops, had reportedly captured Boko Haram’s camp, located in the heart of Sambisa forest.

The statement released by Tinubu’s media office reads:
“I congratulate the nation, President Buhari, and the army, for crushing Boko Haram in their last stronghold of Sambisa forest. I congratulate the troops of Operation Lafiya Dole, for their bravery and resilience. They have given the nation a most wonderful Christmas gift.

“I know the insurgents were engaged in their last desperate acts, and merely clutching to their last straw. Now they have been put down. Terror will have no place in our land. The end is here.

“I commend the troops. I thank them again for their courage and bravery. It’s time to finish the job, and locate and liberate the remaining Chibok schoolgirls abducted from their school, in 2014.

“As we sink ourselves in the Christmas celebration, let us remember to pray for the troops. Let us remember that for them, there was no Christmas.

“Let us also spare a thought for the Internally Displaced Persons.

“We must support them, and give them hope.”
