Governor of Anambra State, Willy Obiano, yesterday evening commended troops of the operation Python Dance inaugurated by the Nigerian military in the south-east zone of Nigeria.
The governor pointed out that persons against the exercise had no reason to do so.
The Indigenous People of Biafra and Movement for the Actualisation of Sovereign State of Biafra and some rights groups in the zone had condemned the military over the operation.
The groups believe that it would inflict hardship on the people.
While playing host to the Chief of Army Staff, Tukur Buratai, at the Prof Dora Akunyili Women Development Centre, Awka, the state capital, the governor urged the people of the state to support the military.
He said “They are not Army of occupation as being labelled by IPOB and MASSOB, and others, especially on the internet. Nobody will be molested.”
He called on the people to cooperate with the army in sustaining the relative peace in the state.
