Manchester City are reportedly eyeing a £25million move for out of favour Arsenal star Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
Reports to the Sun claim that Pep Guardiola is looking to sign another midfielder to replace injured IIkay Gundogan who is currently ruled out for months. The Etihad boss had earlier expressed their interest in the 23-year-old midfielder and has rekindled their interest due to his current contract at Arsenal.
Oxlade-chamberlain is on a £70,000-a-week with 18 months remaining and there is no indications of contract negotiations at the Emirates.
Arsene Wenger had earlier joked that Manchester City are ‘good clients’ but insisted he will not be selling any of his stars to rivals.
‘City have been good clients. But we are financially much more competitive than we were before,’ he said.
‘We were always competitive but we had to sell our players, that is the big difference. Now we can keep our players. Today we can make the decision.’
