Omawumi Udoh, a Delta lawmaker was representing Warri South I Constituency in the House has died on Tuesday night in a London hospital after a protracted illness.
This was disclosed during the plenary on the floor of the House in Asaba, by the Majority Leader, Mr. Tim Owhefere.
Tim Owhefere further move motion for adjournment of plenary to mourn the deceased.
The motion which was seconded by the Minority Leader, Mr. Festus Okoh unanimously voted for by other members of the Delta State House of Assembly.
The House then adjourned plenary session till January 17.
The late Omawumi Udoh, who was representing Warri South I Constituency in the House, chaired various committees.
The Speaker of the House, Chief Monday Igbuya told members that the lawmaker died on Tuesday night at about 11 p.m.
The speaker then led members of the House who were dressed in black attire to sign the condolence register opened for the deceased.
Udoh was first elected member of the House in 2003 on the platform of the Peoples’ Democratic Party
