President Muhammadu Buhari, has been under pressure by the yet to be registered political party, popularly known as the ‘mega party’ and the Senator Ahmed Makarfi-led Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to hand over power, come 2019.
This pressure heightened, as members of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, recently accepted that Nigerians are passing through tough times under the present administration.
Post-Nigeria learnt on Wednesday, January 18, that the mega party has more political heavyweights, including key figures in the APC, who are waiting in the wings, and plotting to toast Buhari out of power.
A source within the party, said it was putting everything in place, “to position itself as a beautiful bride”, ready to be embraced by all Nigerians, in the event that the current realignment of political forces within the APC and PDP results in their disintegration, as Political Analysts have predicted.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Caretaker Committee of the PDP, Senator Ahmed Makarfi, has said that Nigerians have been regretting voting PDP out of power, in the 2015 general elections.
According to him, some Nigerians are already apologising for voting the party out, saying however, that they have another opportunity to vote the PDP back in power, in 2019.
