Following reports on the rumored demise of President Muhammadu Buhari, as widely circulated on the social media and other online news sources, the presidency in response to the rumor dismissed the claims saying the President is alive but needs prayers from Nigerians as he undergoes routine medical checks while on vacation.
Adding his voice in condemning the reports, the minister of information Alhaji Lai Mohammed said its only in Nigeria that citizens are wishing their president death. The minister said there are other important state issues to attend to than add his voice to what he called “a very silly thing.”
However, Nigerians in their reactions to the Minister's statement as shared on our facebook page, said if at all the President returns in good health, the rumor should serve as a lesson for him to meditate upon and amend his ways. Below are some of the reactions we compiled:

What was the President's reaction to the woman christian killed in Kano? It would be recalled that he said people should learn to respect the culture of one another. On the Southern Kaduna killings his Media aid said he cannot speak on everything. What is the reaction of Gov. El-Rufai on the Southern Kaduna genocide? What has the Federal Government done on the Airforce bombing of the IDP camp. Till date no inquiry as to why IDP camp should be bombed thrice and explained away as errors. No Nigerian's life has value more than that of the other.
