Emmanuel Nnamani one of IPOB detainees arrested on the 20th day of January 2017, following the IPOB Port Harcourt Mega Rally and remanded in Port Harcourt Maximum Prisons, was granted bail on Friday the 17th day of February 2017 by Chief Magistrate S.D Andrew Jaja.
The right eye of Emmanuel Nnamani is temporary blind, as a result of a severe injury inflicted in his right eyes with a gun nozzle by the combined team of Nigeria Force men on the 20th January Donald Trump Ipob Solidarity Rally.
At the first appearance of the defendant Emmanuel Nnamani in Court, he was sighted limping with blood stains all over his cloth, which indicated severe brutalisation by the Nigeria force men.
The released defendant was denied treatment from an external eye specialist Doctor by the Prison, to examine his eyes and grant him proper medical treatment, when still remanded in Prison, after the Chief Magistrate ruled the Prison Medical unit should take proper care of his eyes.
The defendant also laid a complaint of poor medical facilities in the Prison, as only Paracetamol is been administered to sick inmates, which has led to the death of so many prisoners owing to less funding by the Nigeria Government.
