THE European Union has finally replied pro-Biafra agitators and given conditions for the emergence of Biafra.
While responding to a letter to the Union through the Organization of Emerging African States, the EU through Mogherini told Dr Jonathan Levy, the OEAS chief administrative officer maintained it has a strong diplomatic and economic relations with Nigeria the “protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms remains a priority for the EU and we encourage the authorities in Nigeria in every occasion to respect such rights.”
The EU apparently in sympathy with the agitation for the emergence of Biafra urged the agitators and the OEAS to exercise caution in their push for self-determination which must be done within the ambit of international law listed by the Organization of Emerging African States below.
Recall the OEAS had been pushing for an internationally recognized referendum for Biafra independence or autonomy and urged agitators against all non-violent means in the push for self-determination such as boycotts, work actions, civil disobedience, demonstrations, general strikes, etc.
