– The national chairman of the new mega party, Action Democratic Party (ADP), Yagbaji Sani, says the structure of the new party gives it an advantage over other political parties in the country
– Sani says the ADP has all it takes to address the socio-political problems confronting the country
The national chairman of the new mega party, Action Democratic Party (ADP), Yagbaji Sani, has said the party is poised to oust President Muhammadu Buhari from government in the 2019 general election due to the situation in the country.
Sani also said the structure of the new party gives it an advantage over other political parties in the country.
Speaking in an interview with the Nation, Sani said the ADP has all it takes to address the socio-political problems confronting the country.
He described the leadership crisis in the ruling All Progressives Congress, (APC) which he attributed to poor coordination of affairs in the party’s administration, as a huge advantage to the new party.
The party chairman identified loopholes in the structure of the PDP and the APC, which he said led to crisis in both parties.
Speaking on the PDP crisis, he said: “The problem started right from 1999 when former President Olusegun Obasanjo declared himself the leader of the PDP.
“The APC has also made a similar mistake by referring to President Muhammadu Buhari as the leader of the APC”
The ADP chairman, said PDP’s failure started with the idea of making the president the leader of the party.
He continued: “In the last dispensation, former President Goodluck Jonathan was the leader of the PDP, forgetting that the present had a limited tenure.
“The moment Jonathan was defeated in the 2015 presidential election, the PDP was left without a leader.
“If the party chairman had been recognised as leader of the party, there would have been continuity in the leadership of the party.”
Sani said the ADP was putting in place an organised structure to help it deliver to the electorates.
Meanwhile, a former national publicity secretary of the Arewa Consultative Forum, (ACF), Mr Anthony Sani has bared his mind on the 2019 presidential elections in Nigeria.
Speaking with Leadership in Kaduna at the weekend, Sani declared that no force will stop President Muhammadu Buhari and the north to seek a second term in the 2019 polls.
Sani suggested that if Nigerians vote a weaker candidate against a strong person like Buhari who is serving under the toughest situation, Nigeria will collapse.
