Renewed tension, anxiety as PDP raises alarm speak on behalf of Nigerians over Buhari's health condition

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) said it is the right of Nigerians to know the health status of President Muhammadu Buhari.
The party also stated that the president should tell Nigerians the definite date when his sick leave will end. PDP National Publicity Secretary, Prince Dayo Adeyeye, who spoke in an interview yesterday, said the presidency should not hide anything about the health of President Buhari.
“They should come clean with Nigerians on the state of health of the president; Nigerians need to know. They should not hide anything, they should not tell lies to Nigerians,” Adeyeye added.
He said however that the party is not requesting for daily health up to date of the president as demanded by the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) in the case of late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, not telling Nigerians President Buhari’s health condition is out of it.

Adeyeye also observed that the president’s leave extension letter to the National Assembly is silent on his resumption date. “It makes the leave an open ended one,” he added.
Also former National Vice-President (South-South) of the party, Dr. Cairo Ojougboh, reminded the presidency and the All Progressives Congress (APC) that one of the pillars of democracy is that political leaders must be open in their private and public lives. “PDP is praying fervently for the quickly recovery of the president. It is our hope that the president will return.
“However as an opposition party, we must state categorically that one of the pillars of democracy is that leaders must be open in both their private and public life.

“As a president of this country the opposition will like to know the current health status of him while praying for him,” Ojougboh demanded. He said though no law forces the president to do so but it is the right of Nigerians to know the health condition of their president.
