Abia Guber Tussle: See Latest Updates from Supreme Court (Happening Now)

DR. ALEX OTTI LAWYERS ASKED FOR ADJOURNMENT, BUT THE JUDGES TURNED IT DOWN
13: 34pm
Counsel to Alex Otti asks the Court to adjourn the matter to enable them file their briefs of argument and take part in the three appeals pending before the court today.
Lead Counsel to Governor Ikpeazu, Chief Wole Olanipekun, SAN opposes the application asking the court to disregard the application and proceed with the business of the day. According to Chief Olanipekun, the application by Otti is very strange because they are not parties to the suit, describing them as interloping persons, not merely interlopers.
The Court, after a brief pause rules that the matter for the day should proceed advising all counsel to strictly adhere to the issues that led them from the court of appeal to the Supreme Court.

The Supreme Court has decided to consolidate all the related appeals to the Abia State governorship dispute.
The appeals are marked 717, 719 and 739.

The Court says that the three have a common origin and shall be taken together and dealt with as appropriate.
That is the latest update.

Please ignore any information purportedly coming from the Supreme Court about some case being dismissed.
It is not true.
None of our matters has even been called up. The Court has been busy with other matters and has just risen for a short break.
On resumption, the court will now hear substantive appeals which is were our cases fall into.
I repeat, NONE of our cases has been called up.
Onyebuchi EMEMANKA, Esq.
Special Adviser to the Governor on Public Communications.

Bar. F. N Nwosu’s case has not even been called up, so it was not dismissed.
Forget the rumour.
